NHS Dental Treatments

We are pleased to offer NHS treatment to those of our patients who qualify.

Treatments available on the NHS include :

  • Examinations

  • Fillings – amalgam and composite where suitable

  • X-rays

  • Dentures

  • Extractions

  • Crowns

  • Referral to local sedation clinics for anxious patients

NHS Fees

NHS charges change every April so we always recommend you check the latest fees with us in case there has been a change.

Emergency treatment (when you need to see a dentist immediately) costs £22.70.

Band 1 Course of Treaments:

This covers a dental examination, x-rays if needed, scale and polish if deemed clinically necessary by dentist, oral healthcare and prevention advice. Some fissure sealants. All items to diagnose and prevent decay.

Band 2 Course of Treaments:

This covers all band one items PLUS fillings, root canals, tooth extractions and wisdom tooth extractions.

Band 3 Course of Treaments:

This covers all bands one and two PLUS any laboratory work e.g. crown, bridge, inlay, dentures and some treatments of missing teeth as well as appliances to prevent damage to your teeth when grinding.

Partial help: If you hold a valid HC3 certificate, you might get some help towards the cost of your NHS dental treatment. The certificate tells you how much you will have to pay
